Facials

“If  there is but one treatment that you can try from our service menu, I highly recommend our facial.  No one else in India does the kind of  facial treatments that we do. It’s a fusion of Western science and Eastern techniques, borne out of my more than 15 years of experience in the skincare industry.”– Ema Trinidad

DO YOU REALLY NEED A FACIAL?

"How often should I get a facial done?" Most of my clients ask me this question when they come to my spas and facial centers. Offhand, I will say that you can do it once or twice a week. But this can not apply to everyone because it depends on your type of skin and individual goals and requirements. You feel it, you see it and you know it when you need one. Read along and find out why you need a facial in the first place. .

Isn't your daily skincare regimen enough?

Cleansing, toning and moisturizing are basic skincare steps that do just that -- cleans, tones and moisturizes the skin. A lot of people do not even do this religiously. As we age, especially when we reach the age of 30, our skin has more advanced requirements that cannot be addressed with a basic regimen alone. When you go for a facial, your aesthetician can help you get these additional advanced skincare steps done:

1. EXFOLIATE OR REFINISH -- both steps remove dead skin cells. The use of a skin refinisher is better when you have open pores, uneven skin texture, past acne scars or uneven skin tone. A really powerful refinisher comes from pumpkin enzymes as they are known to have the same effect as a gentle microdermabrasion.

2. MASKS -- not all masks are the same. The choice of mask given to you should address your specific skin concern:

*OILY SKIN -- specific masks absorb excess oil and deep seated dirt, impurities and toxins. Good ones contain minerals that nurture the skin.
*
VERY DRY SKIN -- there are also moisturizing masks that enhances skin softness and pliability by providing essential moisturization
*
LOSS OF FIRMNESS -- a facelifiting mask can come to the rescue.
*
TANNED, DULL SKIN -- some masks contain special ingredients that can instantly illuminate skin tone and promote a radiant complexion

3. REVITALIZE -- do you have dark or puffy under-eye circles? Does your skin look stressed and tired? Do you have a double chin, puffy face and very visible medium to deep lines? This step can bring your skin back to life after ten minutes of treatment! The use of galvanic currents facilitates recovery from stress, revives and invigorates tired skin by promoting cellular energy. This also provides instant skin enhancing results by allowing the skin to absorb beneficial ingredients containing revolutionary anti-aging ingredient blends.

4. FACE MASSAGE -- promotes blood circulation and lymphatic drainage, and helps tighten facial muscles. Facial massage also normalizes the moisture balance of the skin, helps in reducing impurities and toxins and increase radiance.

So let's go back to the original question -- do you really need a facial? Scroll up and confirm if you are experiencing some of the concerns I mentioned above, concerns which could not be addressed by your basic daily skincare regimen alone.

How often should you do it? The truth is, you cannot rely on a good facial alone to give you long term results for your skin. It is extremely important that you religiously do your daily skincare regimen and exfoliate your skin once or twice a week. Then to achieve better results, you can do your advanced facial treatment once or twice a month. In between, you can use a good mask at home, once a week. If you have acne or sensitive skin, you have to be more careful with the kind of products used on you and how the facial is done. Make sure you only get your facial done with a qualified professional.

What makes a really good facial? The quality of the products used, the specialized training of the aesthetician who should know exactly what he or she is doing, and an individually customized approach to every client as every skin is different.
