DO YOU REALLY NEED A FACIAL?
"How often should I get a facial done?" Most of my clients ask me this question when they come to my spas and facial centers. Offhand, I will say that you can do it once or twice a week. But this can not apply to everyone because it depends on your type of skin and individual goals and requirements. You feel it, you see it and you know it when you need one. Read along and find out why you need a facial in the first place. .
Isn't your daily skincare regimen enough?
Cleansing, toning and moisturizing are basic skincare steps that do just that -- cleans, tones and moisturizes the skin. A lot of people do not even do this religiously. As we age, especially when we reach the age of 30, our skin has more advanced requirements that cannot be addressed with a basic regimen alone. When you go for a facial, your aesthetician can help you get these additional advanced skincare steps done:
1. EXFOLIATE OR REFINISH -- both steps remove dead skin cells. The use of a skin refinisher is better when you have open pores, uneven skin texture, past acne scars or uneven skin tone. A really powerful refinisher comes from pumpkin enzymes as they are known to have the same effect as a gentle microdermabrasion.
2. MASKS -- not all masks are the same. The choice of mask given to you should address your specific skin concern:
*OILY SKIN -- specific masks absorb excess oil and deep
seated dirt, impurities and toxins. Good ones contain

It is extremely important that you religiously do your daily skincare regimen and exfoliate your skin once or twice a week. Then to achieve better results, you can do your advanced facial treatment once or twice a month. In between, you can use a good mask at home, once a week. If you have acne or sensitive skin, you have to be more careful with the kind of products used on you and how the facial is done. Make sure you only get your facial done with a qualified professional.
